Movement for Every Body. Community for Everyone.

My name is Tara, creator of SENergetics as well as an expert in pilates, physical activity and genuine support for all ages, abilities and stages of life - including pregnancy, the postnatal period, SEND communities and anyone who has never quite felt at home in a typical fitness class.

Welcome to Tara's
Active Groups

At Tara's Active Groups, the belief is simple: physical activity should be accessible to absolutely everyone - not just the already-fit, not just the able-bodied, and certainly not just those who feel comfortable in a mainstream gym.

I' am a Level 3 qualified mat and chair Pilates instructor with a pre and postnatal specialism, a community development background, youth work experience and extensive hands-on knowledge of working with the SEND community, these groups are built on the understanding that people are different, life is complicated, and movement should fit around you - not the other way around.

Whether you are pregnant, postnatal, living with a disability, caring for a child with additional needs, or simply someone who has never found the right space to get active, you are welcome here.

What We Offer

Mat Pilates

Suitable for all levels, mat Pilates works on strength, posture, flexibility and core stability using just your own bodyweight. Sessions are fully adaptable so everyone can take part regardless of ability or fitness level.

Chair Pilates

An ideal option for anyone who finds floor work difficult due to mobility, injury or disability. Chair Pilates delivers the same benefits as mat work in a fully accessible format.

Pre and Postnatal Pilates

Tara holds a specialist pre and postnatal certification and understands the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy and the postnatal period. These sessions are a safe, supportive space to keep moving during pregnancy and to rebuild gently after birth.

SEND-Inclusive Groups

Drawing on years of experience working with the SEND community, Tara's groups are designed with inclusion at the core. Sessions are adapted, patient and genuinely welcoming - not just in name.

Youth Activity Groups

With a background in youth work, Tara also runs physical activity sessions for younger people, helping to build confidence, coordination and healthy habits from an early age.

OTAGO Classess

A nationally recognised, evidence-based strength and balance programme for older adults and those at risk of falls. Gentle, supervised and adapted to you - no prior fitness required.
